Maintenance & Repair Services
Wear and tear will inevitably affect technical equipment over time — especially in performance spaces where it’s subjected to frequent use and often operates at high temperatures. Without regular maintenance, equipment can fail earlier than it should, causing additional expense and the risk of problems just before showtime.
This is where we help.
Solutions On Stage provides maintenance and repair services for theatres, schools, and performance venues across the UK. Our experienced engineers are trained to service and maintain a wide range of lighting and sound equipment, diagnose faults within an installation, and complete remedial works where issues have been identified.
We provide on-site maintenance, on-site repair, and workshop repair where required. We can also help create a planned maintenance schedule, allowing you to stay ahead of wear and tear and reduce unexpected failures.

On-site Maintenance
Our engineers visit your venue and carry out thorough servicing to manufacturers’ standards across a wide range of technical equipment, including lighting desks, sound desks and dimmers, as well as associated equipment within the performance space. On-site work may include functional checks, firmware updates where appropriate, inspection of critical components, and clear reporting on actions taken and findings.

On-site Repair
If equipment suddenly stops working, we can help diagnose the issue and plan the most efficient route to resolution. Wherever possible, we’ll discuss the fault before attending the site, so we arrive prepared and can work quickly to restore functionality.

Workshop Repair
For several reasons, some equipment cannot be repaired on-site and instead needs to be assessed and repaired in our workshop. Once received, we will assess the item and provide a quote for repair. We will also work with you on the logistics of return—ensuring you receive equipment back in the best working condition possible and in time for when you need it.

ETC Dealer
We are proud to be one of a small number of official ETC dealers in the UK. This gives our clients access to ETC equipment, manufacturer support routes, and ETC-level product knowledge — supported by ongoing staff training.

Frequently Asked Questions...
Our maintenance and repair services cover the inspection, servicing and repair of technical systems used in theatres and performance venues. This can include stage lighting, theatre AV systems, rigging equipment, fly systems, and wider venue technical infrastructure, depending on what your venue has installed.
Yes. We offer planned preventative maintenance (PPM) for theatres, schools and performance venues. A planned schedule helps reduce reactive callouts, improves reliability during rehearsal and show periods, and extends the working life of your technical equipment.
This depends on the type of equipment, how heavily it’s used, and the environment it’s operating in (such as dust, heat, access limitations, and storage conditions). We can advise on suitable maintenance intervals and help build a planned approach that fits your venue calendar.
Common signs include intermittent faults, unexpected shutdowns, overheating, unusual noises, control or networking issues, or equipment failing under load. If problems are recurring, we can help identify whether it’s a component fault, configuration issue, or part of a wider system problem.
Yes. Where possible, we diagnose and resolve faults on-site. If equipment needs deeper assessment or specialist tools or can’t be repaired safely in the venue, we can arrange workshop repair and support the return logistics.
